Gail Dunnett and Johanna Meise
Founders

Studio D founders Gail Dunnett and Johanna Meise have over thirty years’ experience in the home furnishings and design industry.

Gail has been sourcing, developing, and merchandising for leaders in the home furnishings industry for too many years to admit. With a business degree from Wharton and a Management Consulting background from Bain & Co. under her belt, Gail melded her love of business with that of interiors as the Director of Merchandising for Exposures Homes and later for Pottery Barn in San Francisco. In 2003, she left to follow her entrepreneurial dreams and founded studio D, later joined by San Francisco furniture dealer Johanna Meise, to provide unparalleled home staging, design and retail stores to the Bay Area and New York.

Johanna Meise has a Bachelor of Science in Business degree with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and a passion for interiors. When it comes to decorating & design, Johanna has been a source of inspiration for friends and family for as long as she can remember. The driving force of Johanna’s creativity is an innate desire for harmony & balance in the home. After working with interior designers for many years, Johanna started her own successful home furnishings business, assisting clients with selections of imported furnishings and accents.

Gail, Johanna, and their design team travel local and abroad for inspirational ideas to infuse the company with fresh & exciting looks while adding value for Developers, Agents, Homeowners, and Commercial/Residential design clients alike.

Susan Goldstein
Design Director

As Design Director and Head of the East Bay Staging Division for studio D, Susan has been instrumental in this San Francisco staging company’s rapid ascent. She is bringing this staging expertise and love for Manhattan to New York’s happening real estate market.

Her design skills were honed prior to joining Studio D as the head Staging Designer for Nest Home Designs located in the San Francisco’s East Bay. Prior to her staging career, Susan successfully designed and built-out offices for law firms in San Francisco. While living in New York, she worked as an independent photo stylist in the fashion and beauty industries.

Susan is inspired by the modernist aesthetic and is able to seamlessly combine the contemporary with the traditional for a classic contemporary look. Her passion for home design is reflected in the thoughtful and innovative interiors she creates which have led to successful home sales throughout the San Francisco East Bay area and has parlayed into home sales for the exciting New York real estate market.
